Retreats at Manzanita Village

Retreats at Manzanita Village are open to everyone. They weave together Buddhist practice with perspectives drawn from current developments in Neuroscience, NLP, and personal development modalities. In addition, they include a backdrop of elements drawn from the traditions of non-violence, social-justice, deep-ecology, creativity, and creative thinking.

The Teachers

Caitriona Reed and Michele Benzamin-Miki are teachers of vipassana and zen, and trainers in NLP and hypnotherapy of more than twenty years standing, In addition Michele has fifth degree back-belts in Aikido and Iaido.

Their teaching is simple, direct, and practical. It is informed by their passion for learning, and their ability to integrate mutually complimentary perspectives that allow for rapid effective personal transformation.

Retreats

Meditation Retreats are silent. They are conducted in a spirit of openness and inquiry, with instruction and teachings on meditation and mindfulness, with a view to embodying and integrating positive transformation into your life. Retreat days include meditation, lectures, discussion, and interactive exercises, with unstructured time for hiking, reading, or resting.

Workshops

Workshops cover a range of themes — creativity, creative-writing, martial-arts, deep-ecology, as well as a twice-yearly conference/retreats for transgendered people and allies.
