We face unprecedented challenges, as individuals, as a society, and as a global community. We are witnessing events, and experiencing their effects, in ways that would have been unimaginable to previous generations. Neither denial nor the blindness of outrage can adequately address the scale of it.

At the same time, in the face of catastrophic environmental, communal, social, and economic events there is a huge, and until now often unacknowledged, global groundswell of individuals, organizations, and movements which, by their actions, express their innate trust in the ability of human beings to embody systemic change and to transform human habits and institutions of the past.

Five Changes is an affiliation of associates and allies who stand in solidarity with movements for peace and social change, collaborating on a variety of projects in a variety of settings. We also provide key training for individual transformation, through workshops, retreats, teleseminars, e-courses, audio and word publications.

We see ourselves as part of a vast movement. We recognize the value of the analogy of the Web of Life because it is increasingly appropriate in a world of shrinking boundaries, in which there are lines that are still difficult for some to cross.

Every intention and every act counts beyond our understanding of it. Is it possible to turn what appears to be an unprecedented potential for destruction towards the positive and the creative? —by affirming and harnessing the power of human vision, ingenuity, problem-solving, and the natural human ability to act decisively for the benefit of a larger whole.

Five Changes is made up of teachers, consultants, coaches, activists, artist and writers, health care professionals and healers. We come from diverse social, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds.

Five Changes does not subscribe to any common fixed belief system beyond a faith in the innate power of the human spirit to learn, adapt, and transform itself.
